During the event, BCI presented a\u00a0Report<\/a>\u00a0about the e-Health system in the Republic of Moldova, a\u00a0electronic brochure<\/a>\u00a0and a\u00a0video spot<\/a>\u00a0about eHealth. The representative of the Georgian partner and project coordinator, David Tsiskaridze, presented the situation in the Georgian eHealth sector and, via the ZOOM platform, so did the representative of the Ukrainian project partner, Irina Kuropas.<\/p>\n The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health and medical institutions, as well as experts involved in the digitization of healthcare.<\/p>\n The Round Table participants made a number of recommendations for strengthening the e-Health system in Moldova, namely:<\/p>\n Transparency in system management.<\/strong>\u00a0The Moldovan Ministry of Health needs to take control of fragmented information and ensure transparent management of the system.<\/p>\n Affordable IT architecture and user-centered design.<\/strong>\u00a0A high-performance infrastructure can only be built by professional engineers, and this public procurement should not be based on who offers the lowest price. Quality software is the key to delivering quality services.<\/p>\n Digitization and digital literacy.<\/strong>\u00a0Developing e-Health digital literacy in citizens should not be at the bottom of the priority list. The first function of digital tools is to optimize mechanical processes and partially compensate for the lack of trained staff. Digitization may prove to be the solution to the shortage of medical personnel in Moldova.<\/p>\n Encouraging research and innovation.<\/strong>\u00a0Brains are a resource that, if untapped, goes elsewhere. Through grants, subsidies, partnerships, idea competitions and other tools, the government must encourage eHealth research and innovation.<\/p>\n Using private medical expertise.<\/strong>\u00a0Private medical institutions have more expertise in eHealth.
