Purpose: Develop inclusive, sustainable, and resilient communities while creating an enabling environment for the economic, social, and educational empowerment of women.
Objectives:
- Define sustainable, environmentally friendly, and climate-resilient livelihoods, and strengthen capacities and knowledge in the fields of environment, climate change, and gender.
- Enhance the capacity of NGOs to provide expertise to local public authorities (LPA) and women in the areas of climate resilience, sustainable development, and gender integration.
- Implement environmentally friendly and climate-resilient practices and projects by women-led households, agricultural producers, and communities.
- Promote and widely replicate sustainable and climate-resilient practices and business models.
Results:
- Development of four knowledge products (guides) for LPAs:
- Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) applied at the LPA level.
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of LPA development policies.
- Implementation of environmental and climate legislation in local development plans.
- Gender-sensitive climate change mitigation and adaptation measures in local development plans.
- Creation of four video graphic representations of the guides.
- Completion of climate and environmental profiles for the districts of Călărași, Nisporeni, Leova, Basarabeasca, and Dubăsari, incorporating environmental and gender dimensions.
- Development of climate profiles for the regions of Transnistria and UTA Gagauzia.
- Design and implementation of a capacity-building program in environmental legislation and climate change for LPAs.
